The Grand Seiko SBGW317, released on Friday, February 7, 2025, is essentially the same as the SBGW297, SBGW299, SBGW291, SBGW293, and SBGW289: a compact (36.5mm) and comfortable, manually wound stainless steel watch. These watches all belong to the Heritage collection and are part of the 44GS family. While the 9S64 caliber lacks the innovative double impulse escapement, dual barrels, and higher frequency (10 beats per second) of the new 9SA4 introduced in 2024, it's still an exceptional movement.
Well, it certainly sounds good. Grand Seiko enthusiasts may notice that it uses the same texture as existing models such as the SBGH341, SBGH343, and SBGJ277, just in a different color. Regardless, it looks quite nice.
